This year’s Global Entrepreneurship Week kicks off on 16th November. Pitched as a week-long campaign to promote entrepreneurship and an opportunity to celebrate start-ups around the globe, GEW shines a light on the benefits – both economic and social – that can be achieved by innovative and driven individuals.
What is Global Entrepreneurship Week?
The international initiative celebrates entrepreneurial success across the globe with local, national and global activities and events. In the UK alone, the initiative will involve 1243 activities and bring together 318 partners. A range of events, competitions, networking sessions, mentor events and investor meetings will be held around the UK, helping to engage and inspire future generations of entrepreneurs.
The success of last year’s campaign was monumental, with over 500 partner organisations hosting around 2,500 events, and reaching more than 340,000 entrepreneurs across the country. With the news that at the start of 2015, UK small and medium sized businesses employed 15.6 million people with a combined turnover of £1.75 trillion, it’s evident that this years campaign will take GEW from strength to strength.
