A North Shields business is giving a local charity a helping hand with a donation of much-needed new tools in support of a range of community work to help local people build new skills.

BLAUPUNKT Tools based on the North Shields Fish Quay, launched in 2017 with the world-wide rights to distribute the market-leading range of gardening and power tools from BLAUPUNKT.

Specialists in multi-channel retailing, the team at SKN Innovation were keen to develop new and long-lasting relationships with the local community and were introduced to Meadow Well Connected via their North Tyneside Business Factory advisor, Janice Ross.

The introduction has been particularly prosperous for the community organisation with BLAUPUNKT Tools committing to donate power tools and selected gardening equipment in support of their extensive programme underway in Meadow Well, North Shields.

Mayra De Almeida from BLAUPUNKT Tools comments: “Although the reach of our business extends throughout the UK, we were keen to look at ways in which we could work with local community organisations right here in North Tyneside.  Meadow Well Connected work tirelessly in the local community and communicated how more effective tools and equipment could positively impact on the skills training and work they provide from their facility.

“We are able to provide donations not only from our garden range but also from our new power tool range that Meadow Well Connected can use to for training purposes to support the career aspirations of people in North Shields seeking to develop new skills.”

BLAUPUNKT Tools were supported in their business launch and development by The North Tyneside Business Factory and have continued to receive one-to-one support via their advisor, Janice Ross throughout their business journey.  The Business factory is funded by the ERDF and delivered by TEDCO Business Support in North Tyneside.  It is dedicated to offering assistance to new and growing businesses across all areas of private and social enterprise.

Mandi Cresswell, Chief Officer from Meadow Well Connected comments: “This is a very welcome partnership with a local business who understands and supports the necessary work being undertaken by Meadow Well Connected to improve the prospects of local people.  The modern selection of tools donated by BLAUPUNKT Tools from their range will be put to excellent use helping to train and upskill Meadow Well Connected clients as well as manage the upkeep of our extensive gardens and community buildings.

“I can’t thank the team at BLAUPUNKT Tools enough for their generous and welcome contribution and hope to continue our partnership as our organisation moves forward with new and exciting projects for local people.”
