Quadrus Centre in Double Delight

Tenants at one of the region’s most talked-about business centres are celebrating again after they scooped high profile business awards recently.

Paul Mort, from Precision Fitness was named ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ in the North East Press Portfolio Awards, for the second year running.  Fellow tenant, childcare training specialists, ‘Training in Childcare’ (TIC) also won the ‘Culture for Success Award’ at this year’s Service Network Annual Conference.

Fitness guru, Paul was thrilled to add this year’s award to the one he won in 2005. "I never expected to win this year after winning last year," he said. "Last year's award gave my business a real boost and this comes at just the right time as I am planning to expand into Durham in time for Christmas."

Both businesses beat off stiff competition from some well known local names and follow on from the crop of tenants who have won major business awards since The Quadrus Centre opened in May 2005.

Training in Childcare, themselves winners at last years Portfolio Awards are currently expanding into China and the Czech Republic and the Culture for Success Award gave them a timely boost before setting off to new horizons. TIC Managing Director, Angela Brown was overjoyed at winning the award. “I simply couldn’t believe it when our name was announced” she said. “We have had an unbelievable year since moving to The Quadrus Centre and this really is the cherry on the cake”. She added “We are about to enter new international markets and this award could not have come at a better time for our dedicated team!”

TEDCO Ltd (The Tyneside Economic Development Company) which manages The Quadrus Centre, draws on more than 21 years of experience operating high quality office space at its centres in Jarrow and South Shields. Quadrus Manager, Deborah Evans said “The Quadrus Centre is now over 80% full with ambitious, high growth, service sector businesses and I am thrilled that two South Tyneside based organisations have been recognised by some of the most respected awards in the region.
