Business Startup Advice

TEDCO’s Building up Business team is committed to making sure that you take advantage of every opportunity to create a successful business.  Our friendly advisers will take you through each stage of the business start-up process and help you to fill in the gaps.  Our support and advice are free and cover all aspects of trading, including areas such as business skills, marketing, business plans, finance, finding premises and employing people.

We can also provide specialist support according to your specific requirements in areas such as marketing, web site design and health and safety.   You can book appointments with an adviser at times to suit you (evening appointments are available too), at a choice of venues across Tyneside.

Our start-up service is available across Tyneside at TEDCO Business Centre in Jarrow, TEDCO Business Works in South Shields, The Quadrus Centre in Boldon, Building up Business in North Shields and The Enterprise Centre, based in Newcastle University.  We also offer appointments at public access locations such as jobcentres, libraries and community venues – contact us to find out where we are and when.

All of our counselling is free and designed to help you get started at a pace which is comfortable for you.  You can have as many appointments as you need to get you started – we will support you throughout your journey.
