Q. Is parking available at your centres and is it free of charge?

Yes, all three of our business centres have secure free parking, with dedicated disabled bays at the entrance.

Q. How do I find your business centres?

All three of our business centres are located centrally with easy access to public transport. Please click here for a map of each centre or call our Customer Service team for directions on 0191 428 3300.

Q. How can I rent an office/ unit at TEDCO?

At TEDCO our aim is to provide an environment that encourages and supports businesses to develop and grow. If a TEDCO centre is the right environment for you, then you will sign a rental agreement called a ‘Licence’, which contracts you into TEDCO’s terms and conditions. One months licence fees are payable prior to moving in.

Q. Is there a deposit to pay?

Yes, our deposit is equivalent to one months licence fees, which is payable by cheque prior to moving in.

Q. How long am I committing myself for when I sign the licence?

When taking an office at a TEDCO centre, you are only committed for one full months fees, due to our flexible terms and conditions.

Q. What does my licence include?

Your licence will include the following:

  • Licence Fees by Direct Debit
  • Security
  • Building Insurance
  • Building Maintenance
  • Cleaning of Communal Areas
  • 24/7 Access
  • Electricity and heating in communal areas
  • Broadband Internet (charges apply at TEDCO Business Centre, Jarrow and TEDCO Business Works, South Shields)
  • Free Internet access in reception areas (wireless access available at The Quadrus Centre, Boldon)

Q. Are there any other costs?

There are additional services within each centre such as usage of the communal photocopier, telephone calls, facsimile charges and meeting room hire. Licence fees for offices include utility charges, whereas manufacturing and light assembly units are subject to additional utility charges based on monthly meter readings. TEDCO will provide you with one telephone handset (deposit required) and (at least) a single telephone point. There will be additional charges if you require the installation of more telephone points. You will need to provide a copy of your public liability insurance and any special insurance’s your operations may dictate.

Q. How soon can I move in?

Following a successful application, completion of an application form and evidence of suitable identification, a licence agreement can be arranged within five to ten working days. This is subject to a suitable space being available.

Q. Can I alter my office/unit?

Your office/unit will be ready to occupy when you agree a move in date. It will be decorated, carpeted (if appropriate) and have its own electrical installation. You can erect demountable partitioning, shelving, pictures etc. Although you must not affect the fabric of the structure. Any damaged caused to a unit/ office, must be repaired before you vacate.

Q. How secure is my unit?

Security is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. All our sites are monitored by closed-circuit TV and entrance doors are accessible by a key fob system.
