
Since 1984, TEDCO has offered a high quality service focused on giving individuals the knowledge and the skills they need to develop their own sustainable business. In a typical year TEDCO helps people across Tyneside and Northumberland to create more than 200 new businesses and helps over 300 businesses to develop and grow. Typically our survival rates achieve levels of 75% within 12 months of trading.
TEDCO advisers provide one to one advice and support taking clients through each stage of the business start-up process. Our support covers all aspects of trading, including business skills, marketing, business plans, finance, finding premises and employing people.
We also currently deliver sector based workshops to a wide range of clients for both One North East and Business and Enterprise North East. Additional workshop delivery ranges from grass-roots community work, third sector support to the delivery of workshops to undergraduates, graduates and alumni of the University of Newcastle.
Our start-up service is available across North Tyneside and South Tyneside and in Northumberland at a variety of access points for the client. Our staff are motivated and committed to deliver the best possible service and have a profound understanding of the needs of client groups.
TEDCO has over 25 years of experience in managing and delivering services for a wide range of funders including Local Authorities, Business Link, JobCentre Plus, Government Office North East, Universities and One North East. All of our projects have been delivered on time, to budget and have delivered all required outputs.
TEDCO is a committed, credible, and trusted partner which has experience of running publicly funded projects, including the European Regional Development Fund, European Social Fund, Working Neighbourhoods Fund, Neighbourhood Renewal Fund, and Single Programme.

TEDCO has attained ISO9001 standard and is currently awaiting re-accreditation and has held the Investors in People standard since 1996. In addition, TEDCO was the first organisation in the North East to achieve the Customer First Award, recognising excellence in customer service.
TEDCO has strong links and is involved in national enterprise organisations such as North East Enterprise Agencies Ltd, The National Federation of Enterprise Agencies, and more locally on a board member of South Tyneside Groundwork Trust, South Tyneside College, and members of the South Tyneside Local Strategic Partnership, South Tyneside Enterprise Partnership and the North East Chamber of Commerce's South Tyneside Committee.
